Meet Kurt Vile

Got an email from the Kurt Vile people today. They say go listen to his new disc before it's out (release is next Tuesday 3/8) on NPR First Listen. OK I'll do that.

Quick rundown on Kurt:

• He is/was in the band The War On Drugs. They are good. They released the Future Weather EP last year. If you're new to them, start with that for sure.
• His solo stuff has similar production value but the melodies are headed in a different direction, the mood is different and there's a little more space between instruments. 
• War On Drugs is definitely a little easier on the first-time ears. (Track for sampling below.) 
• He's out on tour with his other band, The Violators, now.
• The War On Drugs is also on tour in different cities on the same nights so I'm guessing Kurt won't be there. Oh well. Good tunes.
• He's a prolific music-maker.

James Blake - Lindisfarne II

Sorry, still trying to figure this whole thing out. This is a repost. I'm going to post these tracks for streaming for a while, but want to be respectful to the artists, so I'll take em down after said while.

This is my fave new track off the new James Blake. Again, it could easily be a Bon Iver track! The whole Blake album is good if you like this sort of thing:
